) then I will just reply here to what you wrote there. First things first. When ddnet wanted to release ddmax maps then Obst did reach them or they did reach him (he was online at that moment). He simply told someone from ddnet staff that he don't want his maps to be released on ddnet. That happend in 2014-2015. Thats why theres not a single Obst's map on ddnet. So until ddnet would obtain permission then everything related to Obsts maps should be automaticly declined. (btw recently I had a nice voice chat with deen about many topics and one of those topics was this one and he did agree with me on what I wrote above) I spoke with the mapper in 2021 about his maps and he still didn't want them to be released. Knowing all of that I tried to prove ddnets map testing crew that what they are doing is simply wrong. In the mean time I tried to contact the mapper so that we all would have a nice official statement from him. Mapper did agree on releasing his maps on very few simple terms: 1. all maps must be released (14 maps - 9 ddrace maps and 5 monster) about the monster mod maps I will still need to talk with ddnet staff if the release is possible of those 5 maps. 2. maps must be in ddmax categories 3. released maps must be based on the ones that he gave me (June 2021 versions) 4. Tsin will be working/fixing/making changes in the maps.

Because theres many maps at once then Mapper wants to have a nice special release (maybe something like koule week or atleast weekend - ddnets call) 5(a). 2 from those 9 maps were never released and they were planned for DDracemaX 3.0. Thats also the reason for a special tiny event. 6. Mapper would want the release to happen in 2022 but the date ofc will be chosen by ddnet All those players who do like ddmax maps will have a nice treat till end of this year (exact date ofc will be choosen by ddnet yet I hope it to be in 2022, maybe they could squize it in december) Between 31.10 to 21.11 I will have free three weeks and I will be working on Obsts maps, on ddmax points to make them more fair and balanced and I will be working on adding TimeCP's to all ddmax maps.

Now about the license and copyrights. To what you wrote I can simply say "thats not how the law works". It doesn't matter if a product have a clear license or not. If you want to use someones product then it is you who must show that you are allowed/have permission to use the product for X use (home/business). So in this case untill you won't have authors permission then you are not allowed to use the product he created. It doesn't matter if the product was created in open source tool or not (open source tool have nothing to with the use of the product created in it). Only because author is absent that doesn't mean you are allowed to use his work without his permission. If you or someone else will find international law or EU law that says otherwise then please share it with us. If someone will prove me I'm wrong then I will apologise for fighting for someones else product. I made a simple 1 second check in google and found this from European Union Intelectual Property Office:

Yeah that would be an excellent thing (atleast for me

) but many players would want them to be released and I assume that some ddnets member also would like to see/play those maps. So I will prepare proper versions and we will see what will ddnet staff say about it after tests. I will fully understand them if they will reject them =]

Would be awesome to have some "new" ddmax maps!

I asked Deen weeks ago about using their Skins on ddnet skin database onto Teeskins database as Asset. Long story short, he said that every Asset ddnet uploads (including Skins and Maps) are under no licenses, but Author is responsible for changes related to it's Assets. So basically CC BY-SA 4.0, as Teeskins uses this license to have freedom on using Assets in any shape or form, but also crediting the Author respectfully. (edited)

At this point we can assume, that anything, be it Skin or Map, is having CC BY-SA 4.0 as a former license on DDNet, but in paper, there is no license whatsoever (edited)
