Balancer for me has been the only effective method to deal with +1 gigabit traffic with 30000 solicitations per second with IP spoofing in a botnet attack from morocco

The balancer is configured on the ports that you open the server and analyzes only that UDP traffic

The typical balancer is the web balancer but there are also for TCP/UDP ports or special ports of course the documentation or configuration depends on where u have hosted your server

You can split the traffic up into multiple reverse proxies, but what use is that, you just as much can’t protect the proxies like you couldn’t protect the original gameserver

i thought spoofed traffic and botnet traffic were usually mutually exclusive

The only point would be to have sacrificial proxies which is what we have planned next. A proxy gets ddos’d to oblivion, you lose the players on that, unlucky but better than no one being able to play

u create a main network subnet "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" and that subnet is linked to more subnets of different regions and different capacities If unusual traffic is found on the main subnet that is distributed

Yes great idea, we can use the proxies that are flooding the serverlist sometimes, which are also expanding KoG to block for example.
