some settings don't work together, some settings makes the window not appear at all and some settings just won't let it run. All cuz of NVIDIA / AMD specific settings which should make better performance, but it just ruins it
there is a premade package, which is technically an installer which interacts with lutris. You go through the game installation and once you're done, you can configure the running sequence however you want

make that game run a different .exe program, have the window open differently, have different shading methods, etc
I have used lutris myself and also know roughly how it operates. which game are you having issues with? or do you have an issue with running lutris itself?
currently I wanted to try some games which required a .msi installation, those went perfectly well. Then onto kernel based installations, immediately thought about League of Legends
11:16
league is tricky, cuz there is a lutris specific league of legends installation package, which if you run, some pre-made stuff are there for you to assist the installation (language, region and path)
11:16
but the tricky part is, how you get from NA installation to any (for me EUNE) installation instead
yes I have managed to install lol as well, although the installation is a bit unstable iirc, the changes riot do break the installers and they sometimes work and sometimes don't
11:18
I wouldn't blame lutris for that one though, riot just makes it very freaking difficult for them to make a proper installer
11:18
I do agree that the installation experience isn't good, but thats how it is when you go with riot games on linux sadly
looking at the current installer (1 week and 5 days old), it doesn't look as complicated as it used to, bummer if it doesn't work out of the box with it
I don't know what you mean by responsible for it. they do their best effort to create a small install script, they are not responsible for your customer experience, similar to ddnet
Well technically lutris based League of Legends client is a custom client which those guys offer with an installation
11:28
It's like having a Wii multiplayer game and you want to run that game through Dolphin Engine, but any custom client would decline the multiplayer experience, cuz of the game's ToS
11:29
this is almost like it
11:30
Hm, not like Riot games will make their engine linux compatible
