oh yea the star symbol next to render is a toggle to turn on/off the visual changes on marker settings, so you can watch/render the demo without all the edits you made

Also smoothing probably isn't a final thing, but it's like a transition state, where it takes a certain amount of time (in ms) to go to one state to another.
