@heinrich5991 debug-print in the console? the ingame console when you press F1?

With gdb you can use the neat hook trick. You add a watchpoint to the variable, then you add a hook-stop, that stops, prints the value and continues. It creates considerable slowdown for often updated variables though, but you can do even neater things like only continuing if the value doesn't match some condition
hm, if you are on windows it's not as easy to set up, you'll need to be compiling with mingw. Visual studio also has debugging tools but they work differently and I'm not familiar with them

(nor have I really enjoyed them the few times I've had to use them, but that's probably just personal preference, I like my tui tools)

Can't have stars back. Can remove snowflakes by using an empty extra asset. Can remove the weapons or the entire hud by editing the hud asset or just disabling the hud entirely
oh, and i can still play?
that solves everything, thank you
is it planned to be togglable though? i want to know if there is at least the possibility that i can continue playing through steam like i normally do
not planned currently, i see what Learath2 is saying, gotcha

i play like every 2 weeks or so and i've been playing on and off for 12 years (since 2010)
its not easy for me to get used to anything new, i just want to relax and feel like im a kid again when i launch teeworlds.
maybe thats weird. i would love if i could set it how it always was, but im no programmer, so i dont know how easy it is to make it a toggle between old and new, so im fine with using the old client for now, that was a good suggestion

Iβm giving it a week or so, then if there are still people that hate it Iβll make something like the old stars
it feels alot like changing mouse sensitivity to me
yea i could get used to it with lots of time, but would much rather play with my current one kind of deal
I will likely make client side old style indicators. Iβm just waiting on it a bit so people actually give it a fair chance. If we released one right now I feel a lot of people that might like the new hud wonβt even give it a chance
The shields there were constantly changing too, we learn to ignore stuff fairly quick unless itβs completely obnoxious like flashing

While i don't find all of it too bad, i really can't get friends with the new freeze timer. I've played this game for a very long time, almost 10 years i believe, and the stars telling you the freeze time is burnt into my mind. So many things i've timed with it, those stars are more accurate than the new "bar" to me. I would really love an option to go back to how it was. I feel similarly about the info in the top left corner.
Knowing if you had doublejumped, learning the color of your feet in order to know if you have a jump or not, just added so much to the game. You really had to keep an eye on it, this info you had to gather was "part of the game". Although i don't find this too tragic, the freeze thing is what threw me off the most.
I LOVE that the game is still alive, being updated to frequently and kept alive, but the stars were one small but crucial thing that one had to learn over the course of a long time. It is burnt into the brain and it feels like the whole freeze time changed
So i vote for option in the settings to revert it! β
Nah if any the bar would be more accurate than the stars. I didn't say that they are more accurate in general but that they are more accurate to me. Maybe they are to others too, i don't know that, but i was mainly talking about my perception
