yeah, on other servers it's probably not. there was some old code for it but I dont think it was reliable, and not sure if it exists anymore

for example, predicting it client-side only wouldn't work if you touched a jump tile while in spec and the client doesn't register

It is predicted. But we have prediction optional. But I wanted to have the HUD working no mater what settings you are using. Also in spectating mode and demos no prediction is done. Thats why the jump indicator does not show the used jumps. In theory it could show the used jumps, based on predictions. But the predictions are really not perfect and would need updates if we want to use it for display. For predictions it is good enough (edited)

but that only affects the jump indicator and freeze and ninja bar. All other hud elements are now default hidden, and only shown if the server sets the flags that @fokkonaut introduced. ... We have no more influence on this.
