I have to completely agree with louis on this matter. It is illogical to ban the usage of dummies when everybody can learn it. Furthermore, you do not need to have the best rank on every single map. There are so many maps. You do not need to be mad about a few of them that have dummy rank 1

I'm planing to redesign the way frozen tees are rendered (see also https://discord.com/channels/252358080522747904/295908390956433410/984910102869991515) Adding snow particles are the first step (instead of the ninja sword/particles) (the particles are customizable as always) What do you think should we use instead of ninja skin. Options we/I had in mind:
  • Rendering an ice cube over the skin of the player
  • Adding a ice shader to the skin of the tee, so it is displayed frosty
  • Replacing the player skin with a default frozen skin (probably like the deepfreeze icon in the new hud, so a tee in a ice cube, or just a frosty skin someone designed)
  • Rendering a frozen skin above the player skin (transparent) Only option 3 would allow you to use rosted chickens... What do you think, would you like the most @Lumpy ◐ω◑

wait does it depend only on my decision? justatest I don't like the current implementation of a player skin ninja coz it's hard for me to see if the player is frozen or not, but your variants of it might look better although I would miss my roasted chickens I kinda like the idea of keeping the player skin for the frozen state but when it's not hard to tell the difference

ye, that's a tough decision, somebody will be unhappy with the changes anyway I don't mind this change as long as a player skin have some distinct mark so you can tell that it's a frozen tee, first two variants are good for it I think

i don't understand what would be hard to test with a cl_freeze_skin command. there are no cross-command interactions and relies entirely on having valid skin files

like hookline is a good example of a setting that wraps an in-game feature. it does not depend on any other commands working properly or having valid arguments, it just works if the feature-related commands are also working

actually related to this real quick, @deen i noticed that shorter strings are sorted later than others, when typically this is the reverse. if you type snd_ all of the specific sound settings show first and snd_volume is last

more options = more code paths = exponentially increasing ways the program can behave = more bugs = more dev burden when the time comes to fix and figure out why that happens, with a fixed value its way easier to test
