DoS attack, hoster is blocking too much traffic. I talked to them, they won't change it

try iran (persian) and india if they're closer to you and you didn't try them yet, otherwise europe servers should be better other than that you can try turning antiping on (settings -> ddnet -> check antiping) (edited)

it does work, you have to open ports on your router for it to work and other people can join then

DDPER is not official DDNet, search for "Persian" in DDNet tab, but I assume it'll be a similar ping to DDPER note that hosting your own server can help you play with your friends and have a good ping but the ranks and points you get on it will not be counted in DDNet
