DDnet is a special client to play a specific mod called DDrace. Since it becomes the most played mod, it’s a client used by the player’s majority. It add some features for esthetics or playability. It’s built to increase teewolrds possibilities and skill but for old players it can be seen as a cheat client (since some features literally make the game easier)
I used entities before DDNet existed in old DDRace client to cheat in infection cuz there were often secret Tunnels and people (like Me) running around with no name and were hard to find
I am seriously deluded.
Is it possible to play DDNet servers using the original Teeworlds
In DDNET, there are modes from Teeworlds (pvp, deathmatch, zombie e.t.c) or are there only co-op passing levels?
I can't choose between DDNet and Teeworlds.

Well the ddnet client has a modern gl33 and vk renderer which has much better performance, you can zoom in/out, there are a lot of customization options when it comes to UI

Does anyone else remember the zcatch mode where everyone had their own color at the start and u shot others so they would become your color so u would build a color team and last remaining color wins? I miss it. Was one of my fav modes back in the day
Hey, me and my friends finished as the wrong name! we somehow ended up being called Rasputin and many other names. could the ranks go to our "normal" names?

If it's by accident then I am fine with moving ranks, but if you're using fake names on purpose to e.g avoid people from recognizing you then no(edited)
if 2 people are trying for r1 but the demo is given wheres the fun in competing ? u just try NOT to fail on the part the other guy did and eventually it will be unbeatalbe rank
and that its similar to comparing FOSS and teeworlds r1s

teeworlds doesnt care about your feelings or your fun, it's just teeworlds

people can try hard on certain maps since not every map is competitive, and they can eventually make a rank that beats out the generic pro player top5. that's what makes teeworlds speedrunning so unique, that lower skill players can spend more time on a map and explore shortcuts and optimizations. if public demos are instantly available, it just shatters that
21:57
public demos (in terms of speedrunning) just caters to the elite 1% of the best players
i really think you are complaining about nothing here too. if someone got r1 originally, they probably have the skill to improve again if they actually try
if everything is given to you, you wont use your brain to try find some new skips because everything is given to you by a demo, it just becomes a brainless game where u just memorise the movement with no skill just press the same buttons every time until u memorise it
100% implies there is some clarity on what makes the completion distinct, or some sense that the state of the game has changed
Cactus

lynn ur argument about "oh you get the legacy of finding a skip" is obsolete because teeworlds has so many maps that a legacy for any non-popular map is barely worth anything. people finding cheats in larger games are "popularized" because there's only one route to the game that everyone takes
if u want to beat a rly good looking run ull have to find micro skips that save time and thats also using brain + actually part of the speedrunning thing
go look up ocarina of time any% world record history
22:06
you're just plain wrong about that part
Cactus

yes it is but all the skips are given so the only thing u can improve is if they failed a part or they were slow, so ur stuck in this loop that u can only improve what they failed until the rank is unbeatable
louis
no they deserve the rank too because it's their work
>we're talking about teeworlds not ocarina of time
>people finding cheats in larger games are "popularized" because there's only one route to the game that everyone takes
if 1 pro finds a good skip and every pro knows about it they can easily beat his time if theyre better mechanically or by luck, they could lose easily top10
they dont, but the rankpoints can be an incentive for some people
Cactus

once again, no? rank 1 doesnt mean he perfected the map to 100% with all possible skips? why not use brain and find new skips again
Cactus

if someone makes an insane skip, i'm always like "wow i want to try and find this" and sometimes look over the map, which i find fun
if someone can just view a demo then where's the fun
