I got a problem with low fps. Got a new gaming laptop with rtx 3070, Intel i7 11800hq cpu and I'm only getting 300 fps with nvidia graphics card. On Intel igpu I'm getting 1000 and old laptop woth gtx 1050 I'm getting nearly 3k . I haven't transfered my pc data to new one so yes my settings and all configurations I've done over the years are a bit different but the newest version of ddnet and same one as my old laptops is having bad fps

rip to you, its called nvidia optimus, so basically your nvidia card is not attached to the laptop monitor and all data goes back to the intel GPU if you open the taskmanager you will see both cards nvidia and intel will have GPU usage, even tho it should only use NVIDIA card Some gamer laptops let you disable it "nvidia optimus" just search else just replace your laptop with a different one, this is a hardware limiation

and defs try out vulkan, you can select the GPU there and vulkan is usually better supported

I've spoken to u about this on my old pc too. But I've sorted it out and even on an external monitor it don't work. Other games kick in optimus straight away whilst this game doesn't but even on nvidia panel and Windows settings I've set ddnet to nvidia gpu and the card is going full mode whilst playing but the app just won't use my cards potential

It's the new laptop that's bugging out on only ddnet whilst old laptop I've had the opposite where most games who upset switch to nvidia no matter what I did but ddnet was fine

but anyway, maybe your old laptop could disable optimus

I've tried vulkan and all are limiting to around 300 400fps and no there's no setting on ddnet or pc limiting fps for this game or any other

from what i understand the more expensive laptops can disable it in UEFI/BIOS

but u cannot always do that can u? from what i read some laptops litteraly dont connect the nvidia gpu to the monitor anymore

i tested it with some russian guy

you can run notepad on nvidia gpu

and found out the intel gpu used like 60% even tho the nvidia card was rendering

yo, since the last update there are some bugs with the pistol sounds, in some servers (like bombay block server or iF|city) the option "enable gun sounds" seems to be really broken because it makes the sounds even with the option disabled. i checked on the old version and it works as it should
