hi everyone after I installed the new version of ddnet from the site. Linux says it's an unknown file type. What kind of file should I use to run ddnet. (Linux)

This is a bug in xfce, I guess we have to fix it. You can run it from command line with ./DDNet

Its ok to use a custom client right, as long as there's no cheats? Are there any more specific rules regarding this?

custom clients are okay if the client doesn't contain cheats

it's mostly automated input that's not part of the official ddnet client that counts as cheat, I think
