What scenario saves demos directly to /demos? Best ranks get saved to /demos/auto/race, regular auto demos get saved to /demos/auto, and replays get saved to /demos/replay. If I make an edit to any demos in any of those folders, the edit gets saved right next to it in the same folder. I have a bunch of demo files directly in /demos and I can't figure out how they got there. I'm pretty sure I didn't move them manually. It's a mix of edits and full run recordings. Are these left over from functionality in an old client version?

What I have done before is make them some really noticeable color like bright red, and make a map with all weapons/entities and see if they ever come up

Is connecting dummy the only functional difference? With this set to 0 it still starts my demos the moment I connect. (edited)

i dont know what you mean but if i enter the game the demo will start recording and if i connect my dummy it will record a new one.. kinda bad for the autodelete demos when reach a certain number (edited)

Hard to say. I have demos in /demos/auto/race that begin right when I hit the startline, but I also have some that show me doing the filter before start.

weird i think the race just cuts the part where u touched a startline till the part where u finish on the "autodemo"

If I had to guess it might be because of /kill maybe? Like if you've killed after crossing start already it might start recording a few seconds before the start tile.

you can set cl_replays 1 and enter save_replay into console and it will save the last 30 seconds or whatever you set with cl_replay_length

it definitely works. If you're getting those white lines around the edges you should run the image through the dilate script
