Hey guys, probably weird but: When I start the game there is a high pitched screeching sound coming from my PC. It gets even louder when I go to the "Assets" tab. Does anyone have an Idea why this is happening? I checked my drivers, restarted my pc and reinstalled the Game multiple times now. Pls Help me

Your Harddrive might be dying

Tested the game on HDD and SSD. Problem doesn't occur with other games

Could try capping your refresh rate, sounds like your computer's probably overheating, causing your fans to ramp up.

No problem, more demanding games will probably have the same issue, probably a bad GPU fan / CPU fan

Probably a good idea to monitor your temps and do some testing, figure out what's making the sound, then if you have warranty for it, try to send it back for a replacement.

Seems like it wasn't my Hardware because my friends have exactly the same issue when they turn off vsync and have no capped refresh rate.

Does anyone else played the ddnet client in window mode before the update and now has some problems with the windows start bar? I mean when I move my cursor down, It moves out of the game. I don't remember if before the game was over the windows start bar or the cursor didn't reach down, but now It looks like I have the start bar over the game. I don't think I had the game on fullscreen before, because I didn't understand how to screenshot properly in fullscreen mode

Download this, put it in your appdata>roaming>Teeworlds folder, change the key you want it bound to within the file. It's currently set to C, you'll have to change it in both spots. Launch the game, press F1 then type exec deepfly_switch.txt

@thekid36I believe changing the resolution and then changing it back fixed that issue for me, or swapping between fullscreen and windowed borderless. Or possibly a mix of the two

Hey I had this problem too, the noise comes from your GPU, it's called coil whine. People say it's harmless besides being annoying, if you cap your fps like you did it should be gone (besides also happening for like 1 second after entering the game after having it minimized, since it takes a bit for the game to make the gpu output less frames)

i have that too, only when i play with design tho

well it's how hard your gpu works, if you capped your fps lower when you play with design it shouldn't happen

you can move around the map faster if you zoom out :) then zoom back in to spot you want to edit (edited)

Hmm? Map gets downloaded to %AppData%\Teeworlds\downloadedmaps when you enter the server, tried that yet?

This works, and loading the map in the editor and saving it as new works aswell

u should probably figure out what works best for you, copying someones settings isnt optimal imo

Ye i know, maybe the better question would be: Are there any setting that are definitly superior to others? Like e.g. in the graphics setting the textures or V-sync or stuff.

we try to set the defaults to be reasonable

if you haven't already, i'd recommend trying the antiping setting for a while to see whether you like it or not

I rejected antiping for a while. Making the switch to it was a very good idea

When I was a novice player I remember trying for 15 mins straight to do a simple hammer throw and it never worked once. Turned antiping off and I got it 100% of the time. So I just thought antiping was the "you can't hammer throw anymore" button
