Is there a way to force my second ddnet client to read a separate config file/folder automatically?

You can run it with DDNet.exe -f mySecondConfig.cfg, can also be specified in shortcut

Perfect thanks. /Applications/DDNet2.app/Contents/MacOS/DDNet -f /Library/Application\ Support/Teeworlds/settings_ddnet2.cfg works on macos, in case somebody searches for this later. What do you mean by 'in shortcut' though? Just curious.

I assumed you are on Windows. There you can set the command line parameters for a shortcut (like on Desktop)

so you could have a shortcut DDNet1 and DDNet2, each running different settings files
