I also take a different approach to testing. I think too many testers fail to have sympathy for newer mappers and try to be super analytical without focusing on their feelings. yeah some people might not agree on that but I think it's more important
if we already have so few people mapping, then we need to be extra considerate of the people who do try

I think Cherry is an excellent first map for a newer player to make, sure there is a lot of reused stuff but the design isn't bad and just simple parts
if there was an actual structure to testing I think more people would be motivated to actually test and mappers would have a better chance to get their maps tested and get better feedback
I care so much about new content, and constantly get annoyed by people on the test server, aka_bartosz (?) joining always and spams around, then sp someone the rcon spammer(so all logged in people have timeout)(edited)
when there was actual active testers,they just kept testing the maps from known mappers over and over and ignored the mappers who dont have a name yet and their maps sat in testing for around 6months with no progress then they just lost motivation :/
this is why a "testing team" does not fundamentally work

we need to involve the community more somehow. but incentive doesn't exist yet

maybe because they know they don't have an effect on if it's going to be approved, but if they could vote towards the map then people might be more willing to invest the time
