yes you can just copy it, switch to the other map and load (be carefull about the layers xd idk if it works with multiple layers, most likely not)
other than that there is the append function to merge 2 maps(edited)

so at first prepare the map with the bg you want to take, like delete all layers, game layer(s) shouldnt matter. save it.
then go to the map where you want the bg, click on append and choose the prepared map.
