you have to have the top tee jump right before you get hammered by the bottom tee. think of it like rocket jump. hammer force is additive to jump force only if the jump came first, not the other way around. this is a common mistake people make when speedflying(edited)

other than that, my tip for hammering the bottom tee back: try to time your hammer at the same time or ever so slightly later than the bottom tee to ensure that you don't bump into the bottom tee more than once due to the upwards force of the hammer, negating your speedfly velocity
