I think he just thought the ddos on german server was targeted to him and not the server

Players can use the DDNet/KoG tabs for official servers or check for the heart symbol in Internet tab to know if a server is official. We already implemented HTTP master server in latest client release so that clients don't have to request server info from every single server on Internet tab, which used to expose their IP addresses.

why do people have such a problem with ddnet? they take time off their day to dedicate themselves to ddos/harm ddnet

We are an easy target. Other games are run by large companies and can easily pay thousands of euros per month for DoS protection. Meanwhile we're running funded on donations on 10 € / month VPSes that go down easily.

I appreciate what you are doing to try and prevent this from happening, it must be hard trying to run a game. Thanks for working on it, best of luck.
