pilot always. there is too much rng if hammerer jumps, due to bounce etc.

Driver should be the one making the recovery, yea. Hammer should be mindful of the driver's double jump, if they used it or not, then use their DJ to recover if the driver messes up. Obviously the hammer should jump if they fall too far away from the driver for a recovery

or if the driver is close to falling into a fail spot / tele and you need DJ to slow their fall

very rare that the driver ends up under you in a normal fly though (usually its because it lead into a throw or aled)
