Hello can someone tell me: Is it possible to do own server and play on him with friends? Can I download map from the internet and play on it with friends? And how to set this up.(edited)
@TimidTurtle You can also join an empty official ddnet server, vote a different map and play with your friend in team (using team chat). Then you can play privately, while still getting official ranks/points
You join a team by typing /team NUMBER before you start a map (cross the starting line) ... You can also enable /practice, which allows the use of /r if a map is too hard for you, though, again, you don't get credit for map completion when using /practice. (Also, everyone in the team must type /practice to enable it.)
/r Acts as a form of "Rescue" you'll be placed on the last tile you touched when you weren't frozen.
Once everyone's ready to start, you can /lock your team, which makes everyone in your team kill when you press kill, but it keeps you all in the team together.(edited)

If someone keeps joining your team that you don't want in it, you can always /lock the team and /invite NAME players that you want to play with.

The default key for team chat is Y, no one outside of your team will see your messages.
ESC-> Call vote -> Select a server type (top to bottom in terms of difficulty) (At least for the first 4 options) -> click call vote at the bottom right...
Repeat the steps but select "Random novice map / Random Novice map unfinished" -> put a difficulty rating in the "Reason: " section next to the Call vote button.

Maps have up to 5 stars in terms of difficulty rating, 5 stars being the hardest, so a 5 star novice map will be some of the hardest maps you can play in that category, repeating for moderate, brutal, insane, etc.(edited)
I've always wondered what specifically has been changed for ddrace to work. Like hooking thru corners, edge hooks, rfly, if all that stuff is just sort of discovered or if things have been adjusted for them to work
