I answered this before and race server's points intentionally don't reflect the difficulty of the maps, same for ddmax btw. so that there is more focus on newer ddnet maps

there is currently 1 player on DDNet Race, 20 on DDNet Solo, and 1000 on multiplayer. Multiplayer gameplay is more fun, and we should direct players in that direction. So we default to Novice instead of Solo, give fewer points for race maps etc
