how do custom skins work - specifically, does anyone who has the "download skins" box enabled see my custom skin? and if i make edits to my skin with the same filename, do they still see the old one cached?
well once i get my skin to a satisfactory level i'll probably submit it then

also on the topic of custom skins, the feet on my skin are square and the square edges wind up with ugly white artifacts. is there a way to make the artifacting less bad?
I don't know if this has been asked before but isn't there a way to prevent newer players that don't even know how to hammerhit to join Brutal maps without noobfilter like Stronghold? Or players that that get carried to a difficult part and then fail the whole team? It makes it unecessarely difficult to play in team 0.
Blocking someone that can't even get to the second part of the map isn't very helpful since they will just jump down and will be at the same position again. And they could also just wait until someone else comes.
in respons to @JMarcell and @think twice. couldnt ddnet create a new genra if they do end up creating this "new difficulty rating" scale. where youd still have normal servers like novice brutal fng... but also another server which would work like mot games, the pc will look at you total points and put you in a catagory same as most shooting games.

And no this doenst mean only new maps will be there, we can have old maps but just a way of sorting out kids (and points seems like over best way to do so). so people can enjoy some what same level skill friends
@Deleted User im not sayign the new type of system will block you form playign maps, waht im sayign is , imagine they called the new mode points ( like novice fng exist) and when you enter any "points" maps you get sectioned by your points, now yes once again ddnet doesnt want to change how names and accoutns work which is kinda sad but most poeple like to stick to their name so you'd have more fun this way with people your level of skill.

not realy @builder17 u cant just have a lot of poitns and be trash, that only happens if someone copys a famous name which is ddnets part to intorduce such system and only naggers if seen is guys who are "lazy" to type in a password once in their life time

points are earned by playing and at one point uve finished all eazy maps you need to do hard ones to earn more, so points do give a pretty fair judgment of how good a player is, however its the fualty system which allows anyone to use a high point name that stops this from becoming a serious game with good reputation, would stop ip abbusers, and give actual ranks rather than (reputation for being good player)

is it possible to create a private server to avoid lags and trying maps without your time being saved when you finish ?
You can start your own server from the client and play in lan. The rcon password will be displayed in the console which you can use to vote downloaded maps.
To find your server you have to switch to the lan tab and make sure your filters don't hide it.
