You can't make your own server and have the ranks actually register on the main servers

If you mean just host your own server in general, you just click run server in the main menu, your server should show up in the LAN tab. You can drop maps into the map folder, they'll show up in the call vote menu (edited)

If you want people to be able to join your server, go into the game folder, open autoexec_server.cfg, then change sv_register 0 to 1. (Then portforward, the port is 8303) (edited)
