Air travel in europe has always been extremely cheap thanks to ryanair and easyjet

For reference the usual flight I take to london costs 22€ round trip. After covid it costs about 14€

There are a couple routes that I always would take a train on though. Milan to Paris is 100€ on a flight 70€ on a train and takes a similar amount of time considering pre and postflight security

I mean the processing stuff. Like finding your bag and stuff. It's true though in the eu I can usually make it out of an airport 10 minutes within getting to the terminal if I have a carryon and the epassport gates are not broken

Btw there is postflight security in the eu, sometimes. It's very rare though. I had to go thru an ID check once in frankfurt once in lisbon

They are in all major airports in milan and rome. Frankfurt also has them. CDG in paris has them. They are getting pretty common in the eu
