the antiping solution works if im solo with no external factor but its very unplayable with any factor that comes in from players or map so i cant use it multiplayer

did GER1 Change location when GER3 was introduced, Because i previously had the lowest ping on GER1, and higher on GER2. Now the lowest ping i get ~Around 40 is only on GER3
@Inaba you can't really do compensate high ping completely when other players are involved. antiping is your best bet. if the game is unplayable with antiping, it's even more unplayable without it. try finding a server with lower ping to you
Uh, I think I agree with @Inaba here, I much prefer to play without antiping and adjust to the ping. I may not play at 350 ping, but I used to play with 120 back in turkey and it's actually quite possible to get used to playing at that ping. As you said at high ping there really is no way to compensate so might aswell keep the fluidity, especially with other players involved
player interaction was horrible. but antiping was still a godsend

I think turning on antiping is still a good idea at low pings; it makes the catching/throwing experience the same no matter if you have 20ping or 80ping
You could write a script that detects files in downloadedskins and moves them to skins

thank you for the messages regarding my antiping problem. it makes sense its the best solution for most players as it makes the game play more like youre used to on low ping. for my ive played my whole life with 300+ ping as im from australia, no playerbase here or proper server so it is the opposite effect of becoming jarring rather than something im used to like Learath2 said. and the annoying problem is the base engine of ddnet seems to work differently to original client and most other clients as a matter of fact of already compensating lag protection so even with it off its a very very different feel to how ive played for 7 years

DDNet prediction code(even without antiping) is probs a bit "better" and thats why it looks visually better, even if i understand that it looks like an aimbot for a moment
in the latest vanilla client this has been changed, and the hook now looks the same as in ddnet. I see what you mean with the "aimbot", though. the problem is that your own tee is predicted, while others arent, so the transition when you hook on to someone has to be unsmooth in one way or another (or it can be delayed, like before, but then there is not really any "right" place to show the hook)(edited)
Me and my Romanian friends have a higher ping on GER1 since the start of GER3 server. We had around 45-50 and now we have 65+ even tho we are 200 kms apart and have internet from different ISPs. Ger3 is smooth like Ger1 was.... Why is this happenning?
Same as current GER1, i've been avoiding GER2 for a long time because for me ger2 always felt laggy and i had frequent lag spikes on there (While on the old GER1 it was ok and rarely experienced any lag spikes apart from the usual ddos xD)

I haven't played enough on the new server to see if this is better than GER2 but it's obvious it's worse than old GER1 xD
