I am not sure where I've heard that, but I found this regarding germany: "According to the annual report of Germany's interior intelligence service (Verfassungsschutz) for 2012, at the time there were 26,000 right-wing extremists living in Germany, including 6,000 neo-Nazis" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neo-Nazism_in_Germany#Germany) so 0,0075% of germans are neo-nazis according to this estimate. I will look for numbers, but my intuition is that there a lot more elsewhere, USA e.g. (edited)

it would make sense though, since it is so frown upon in germany, with many legal punishments for support there so that nazi supporters can form in their own bubbles elsewhere, where it's not punished

I guess, but that's just a prediction. to see whether it holds one would need to take a look at data

yeah, it's an interesting question i also think that it's a bit of taboo topic for those that do studies on people, like how race is such a massive taboo for studies, which is kind of sad (for the sake of knowledge and wisdom) but makes sense given today's circumstances and potential conflicts (edited)

I'm not into that topic, can't comment on it directly. do note though that it's also "taboo" to talk about climate change not existing or the earth being flat; in these cases it's due to scientific consensus that these "opinions" are complete nonsense

but there it's a question of common sense versus the echo chambers people build, kind of a time waste for everyone sane. while there are actual questions that would need research and if done correctly could potentially prevent harm. but yeah, they don't receive support for many reasons, maybe it needs more time. in the end truth will always win. and this feeling for what's accepted is always changing, like it always has

it shows the damage when studies are beeing influenced by a higher power, like how some countries just rarely listed CoViD deaths as such, to create a fake image and therefore people will die etc it's really sad, and so backwards in a way

well AfD is standard right wing stuff, it's not an openly nazi party like this one
