I mean after I downloaded the game I’ve spent like 3 months only playing on law’s multimap less, I started playing on ddnet like half a year later, then finished Stronghold there 6 days after

I’d say if you play on the right maps regularly it takes like 3-4 months(edited)
i don't like multimap, because you don't learn alot while playing and i think we don't have many good moderate maps, that prepare the players for brutal.
i guess with some work from good mappers, we can make an easy "ladder" of maps you can climb to increase your skill level. also it's hard to find the good maps rn, i guess that's another reason why it takes a long time to improve.

some skills like hammerfly (with driving) are hard to learn without any help, but can be learned easily with the right map for it and some hints from a better player.

i taught a gores player how to hammerfly by creating a (small 3 parts) map for him xd(edited)
@Animefan Making an events for mappers would be good idea. Like:
13 october - 20 october, make a ~3 star moderate map with non-faily parts focused on edge hooks

u still have to do stuff as a t0 stronghold player
@louis like moving left or right and jump into freeze, omg)(edited)
If you teach edgehook, you kinda have to repeat the same part again and again. I guess Baby Aims introduced edgehooks within a good mix of different parts.
