@Im 'corneum that is not really on the subject, you cant expect testers to invest more time into testing than they want to and if they have fun doing related stuff its something entirely different
1 (from my point of view). Welf doesn't seem to have drastically different ideas about mapping. instead its rather about 2 occasions where Welf disagreed with her and didnt communicate that in a neutral conversation, but instead made it a bigger problem than it was

People disagree about subjective stuff. Saavik didn't like being disagreed with as with most of the old guard, neither does Welf. Something had to give eventually
Map quality developed after some years and old maps weren't that good (in average). If they didn't release many maps, the servers would've been rather empty in the beginning. The choices from back then had their reasons, ofcoure it looks stupid from today's perspective ("why did they release these bad maps?").(edited)
2 (my take again): For me it seems like each situation could easily be defused. for example if any one of them wouldve ended the first discussion at https://discordapp.com/channels/252358080522747904/734089915163213945/754325051792162827 , everything wouldve been solved.
both agreed that the map would be just as good either way and the mapper can decide, the end. either one couldve ended it.
for me this sounds like it could be solved in a heartbeat, if they either quickly exchanged what annoyed them or by one of them just ending discussions once they get into the useless state.
in my eyes something wayy less drastic than leaving the tester team should have solved this. this again feels like another time one of them blows their differences wayy out of proportion
Man why u guys even give a shit wether the conversation was defused or not. Welfs father couldve not nutted in his mom and that wouldve defused the situation aswell. U guys could be productive and that would defuse ur nonproductivity rn
Welf should have defused this though, as he was the "responsible" one, the "Leader"
i completely agree that that is the most obvious and easy solution. but honestly i believe anyone in the tester team should kinda take that kind of responsibility in those situations
in my eyes this problem is kinda solved by itself if both are actually willing to let those things go
@Lady Saavik how do you see it from your perspective?
