i really appreciate well designed maps that include all the information, however thats more uncommon than i would like. teleporter checkpoints for example are rarely ever marked, and if they actually are marked, its often not thorough (for example its not clear if the cp extends to the ceiling or is actually only on the marked surface)

on some maps i can be certain that im not missing any significant information, thats sadly not really given for the majority of maps that currently exist

Set contrast low and brightness low, if everything is visible it's good enough. Don't use the brightest possible colors. If you can't choose well-fitting colors use something like https://color.adobe.com/create

if some of the designs would not be fckin shit, and I don't mean "not the prettiest", but rather things like mixing pink grass_main with bright green "sky" and black sun - like, literally just being sane and think for just a sec about whether it looks terrible - players wouldn't switch to playing with entities that easily. I also played in "normal" way for long until got totally tired of either cappy eye-hurting designs or, mostly, being unable to distinguish what is hookable block and what is something that mapper considered to be decoration in the background. And since we have custom entities bg... not a single reason to go back. Bit customized hook & unhook tiles in entities, very own background, and every map looks damn good to me. No matter by who it is or how it is designed.

you don't install ddnet client per se, you just unpack the zip and run it

your settings aren't in the same folder as the client so you don't need to worry about that

@redboy. Versionnumer 12073 is also used by a cheat client thats why you cant join with it 🙂

@Ama yeah spam all maps with switch tiles like Cavings I so nobody can play with entities. Much people are playing for a good or even perfect time and design is only annoying. Also id like to know exactly where teleporter leads me and so on. I doubt anyone would like a design like on Interlude where every entitie is marked even totele^^

for maps that I really want to finish and are spammed with switches, I literally have entites version without switches on it >.>

But in general, i play only in entities because design is not uniform between maps, so you always get fucked because something is not what you think it is

too many mappers use too bright colors, and full plain white clouds that "hides" part of the screen because of the brightness
