i downloaded autoupdate while on server, played for like 10 minutes, then pressed restart when i wanted to rq

Updater quits the client which would write the config, if you are very unlucky that could overlap with the opening of the config by the newly started updated client, which would fail and the client would start with default config. Exiting the new client saves the default over the old config
