OSX is not a sane environment. I'd suggest only ever having brew as it atleast has the most users so people can figure out fuckups quicker
18:18
brew as in just homebrew
18:19
brew is also an abomination, but eh, what can you do when the entire OS is mostly an abomination
18:20
I was very disappointed when the people who hacked the switch went for brew. Such a lazy decision, If I had interest in the switch homebrew scene, I'd have definitely added dpkg instead
ok sowwy but i understood like nothing from what you said xd
how did they went for brew? Did they choose brew as a platform to publish the hack? Or for dependencys? And what is dpkg?
After they hacked the platform, they implemented brew for it to handle packages
18:42
the hack itself ofc can't be part of the brew repository they have because you'd then need brew on there to get the hack on there. Chicken and egg problem
18:42
dpkg provides primitive package management to debian like systems
18:43
Then you usually add in APT to make it usable

Hmm, or I might have went for pacman. Definitely not brew
