Teeworlds has unencrypted traffic and past source available, it's a breeze to reverse engineer

We could maybe have an account system where we require proof of work to create an account to make sure it actually takes time to create an account

@Boci we are greenlit on steam, we can release it anytime, but we didn't want to release without a tutorial, and no one made a tutorial, so it's just kinda sitting there

Proof of work is a way for the computer to prove that it has spent some time doing work. If you have proof that they spent time, they can't just spam accounts as it'd take time to create them. If that makes any sense
it is really hard to learn, for example when i showed my group of friends teeworlds, they thought it's a shooter game, so picture this: 7 people join Epix (novice) start shooting eachother with pistols, and screaming why are you not dying
you could make a racemap into it and tell the player to try get through it in 10 seconds or whatever. and then he can proceed t the next part. should all be optional of course but new players need to repeat movement 100 times to get a feel
i think you would need to go step by step (not a gud introductory map either btw), each map concentrating on one aspect: basic movement (dj!), each weapon, drag parts and so on
it would also be great if you would have one server dedicated to newbies, which everyone is directed to when they first start the client, and it would be running novice maps only, with experienced players helping (those who enjoy doing that)
also i dont think its such a problem to get good. i see many new players get good within 2 months and then they wont stop getting better anyway. the ones that really want to be good, will be
