We get notified on attacks, but can't automatically know when part of legitimate traffic gets blocked

You have a short copper cable to the curb and from there it's fiber around the world

and i always thought that the 8ping guys just live in moscow or frankfurt or whatever

and that copper to fiber transfer commonly adds 10-30 ms
