4412936 Upgrade DDNet.tw server - def-

@deen sorri for the late response. Sure classical ddnet servers are also a nice traget but i think the block server is too much of an target compared to the value it gives. It is not connected to the point system no team members care about it. As far as i know there are now new map releases or any ddnet specifiy block maps. The server is just there because ddnet can. But compared to some random servers like vanilla or fng the block server can get pretty ddosy (sometimes). But ye your choice in the end.. just my personal opinion

@ChillerDragon shut them down already, don't care much

ChillerDragon 2018-05-03 10:14:03Z
ok cool c:
Avatar
@ChillerDragon note that deen said that there weren't fewer attacks after the block servers were shut down

@heinrich5991 note that the long text was a response to exactly that statement xd
Avatar
but it doesn't seem to be a target
12:57
the rest is OK I guess
Avatar
ChillerDragon 2018-05-03 12:58:00Z
like really no target at all?
12:58
i cant believe that even i get ddosed sometimes with my block servers and its not even a mainstream map
Avatar
I updated ddnet.tw to 2 GB RAM instead, so /players/ is now running locally on DDNet.tw again

[quakenet] <deen> because running it on CAN was a bit stupid with 1200 ms latency, now back to a more normal 60-140 ms
Avatar
@Learath2 how do I set up a darn nk_user_font structure
14:32
do you have some kind of minimal example
Avatar
@heinrich5991 I only ever used it with someones wrapper for it in unreal engine but they do have examples in their source tree iirc
14:40
with examples of the render backend even
Avatar
yea, and an example in the readme that doesn't work ._.
Avatar
@heinrich5991 it's documented in nuklear.h if you didn't see that yet
Avatar
yes
14:42
but try to figure out how to get a simple font from there ^^
Avatar
yeah, never really had to do that part myself
14:44
nuklear - A single-header ANSI C gui library
Avatar
yea, the makefile in the directory worked 🙂

[quakenet] <Learath2> :D
Avatar
yes, ddnet was ddosed many times so players would go to exec servers in case you didn't know (edited)
Avatar
@Learath2 I'm not sure if this upload is viable
Avatar
too slow?
Avatar
yes
23:08
it displays something around 300 hours to completion
Avatar
maybe we could diff up directory listings and you could send over a gzip instead
Avatar
I could mail you the missing parts 😄
Avatar
you did say it compresses pretty well
Avatar
via snail mail
23:09
rsync compresses it as well
23:09
-z flag
Avatar
how did I miss so much :/ maybe it was failing silently aswell
23:09
do you know how much im missing in total?
Avatar
no
23:10
300GB sounds a bit much, right?
Avatar
could you figure out if it's a snailmailable size?
23:11
yeah that does sound a bit much 😄
23:11
is it 300gb?
23:12
also how fast is your upload speed
Avatar
wait
23:12
just compare sizes
23:12
what's your du --apparent-size -sh data?
23:13
$ du -sh --apparent-size data/ 390G data/
Avatar
so 40GB are missing
Avatar
how fast is your upload?
Avatar
dunno, reliably I'd guess 1/3mb/s
23:15
33 more hours
23:15
sounds okayish
Avatar
didn't you just say 300 hours? 😄
Avatar
yes. that's what rsync said
23:16
but our own calculation says ~33 hours
Avatar
interesting that rsync is getting it wrong
