@deen did you release the windows version without optimizations? i get nearly double the FPS when i compile the client my own (and its clearly a CPU bottleneck with the official version, because i notice that performance hit when opengl3.3 is off, which causes more CPU work for chat e.g.)

@deen the appveyor build also gives a much better result and a much smaller executable

there used to be a video of someone who made his own client that had light rendering and new eapons ans stuff. he never published it and the videos are gone now 😦
