<nemo2> hm. interesting. pipelining was removed. "not useful to maintain" boo - still lots of non http/2 sites out there
00:01
<nemo2> but was funny to me how those "http2 speed test demos" rendered exactly as fast, or even faster in http 1.1 with pipelining enabled
00:01
<nemo2> ah well

firefox uses GPU by default?
Avatar
<nemo2> depends
00:02
<nemo2> windows, linux or OSX?
Avatar
windows
Avatar
<nemo2> also about:support should tell you
00:02
<nemo2> in that case probably GPU use
00:03
<heinrich5991> I thought it uses the GPU by default everywhere
00:03
<nemo2> it should
00:03
<nemo2> but...
00:03
<nemo2> actually these days coverage is darn good
00:03
<nemo2> also. GPU everywhere doesn't always mean same efficiency in acceleration
00:03
<nemo2> there's different levels

<heinrich5991> nemo2: do you have the mac builds by your coworker?
00:04
<nemo2> it ran with 0% CPU usage in Safari. 200% CPU usage in Chrome on OSX, 150% CPU usage in Firefox on OSX. 0% CPU usage in Firefox on Windows
00:04
<nemo2> 0% CPU usage in IE on Windows
00:04
<nemo2> 200% CPU usage in Chrome on windows
00:05
<nemo2> depending on what you're doing you can get wildly different results
00:05
<nemo2> heinrich5991: by unc0rr's coworker? yes
Avatar
I tested it on chrome now, its like 0%CPU usage
Avatar
<nemo2> Savander: also there's the new quantum work being rolled out in windows first. I can dig you up a link on it
00:05
<nemo2> yeah. this was years ago
00:05
<heinrich5991> do you know the error message?
00:05
<nemo2> it also rendered with ugly banding at the time
00:05
<nemo2> both of those were eventually fixed in skia
00:06
<nemo2> but at the time it was frustrating due to chrome market share
00:06
<nemo2> was hoping for an easy win on the effect
00:06
<nemo2> heinrich5991: sure. hang on. you could also drop by our chat if you're feeling helpful
00:06
<heinrich5991> where is it?
00:06
<nemo2> irc://irc.freenode.net/hedgewars
00:06
<nemo2> is linked off website πŸ˜‰

<nemo2> 13:53 < didels> game itself crashes first time, clicking second time (of third) - loads
00:10
<nemo2> Savander: my point was more you can be CPU accelerated but not accelerating everything ☺
00:11
<nemo2> or even "nearly enough"
00:14
The Firefox Quantum release is getting close. It brings many performance improvements, including the super fast CSS engine that we brought over from Servo. But there’s another big piece of ...
00:14
<nemo2> due in upcoming months
Avatar
It will replace current renderer?
Avatar
<heinrich5991> yes
Avatar
amazing
00:22
Thank you for link, i will read it. But now it's time to go to bed

HMH ?
17:56
and noby is dev too he should fix himself lelel
18:08
if i didnt have a newer computer and had to fix this myself i would just try to port ddnet antiping to vanilla client cuz its the only part i use anyway
Avatar
no hoook coll?
Avatar
no point, it gives away ur position to the enemy
18:13
It's usefull in ddrace
18:13

18:13

Take source and compile it by yourself (edited)
21:08
Teeworlds is A retro multiplayer shooter, XXLDDRace is a DDRace mod, with some extras.
21:09
I think it's that
Avatar
<nemo2> antiping?
Avatar
It's feature in DDNet Client, that gives you ability to predict grenades, shots, movement
21:10
based on your ping
Avatar
when ur server gets ddosed ._.
Avatar
<heinrich5991> nemo2: antiping is more than normal tw would do, usually it mostly only predicts your own character
Avatar
<nemo2> huh...
23:30
<nemo2> I guess deterministic lockstep isn't practical in a realtime shooter
Avatar
no way πŸ˜„
Avatar
<nemo2> Spring uses that, but I 'spose batching operations when playing general isn't a big deal
23:31
<nemo2> ... and Hedgewars ofc, but since it is turnbased is no problem at all
Avatar
Is it better to play with it all the time or only when laggy?
Avatar
<heinrich5991> nemo2: seen the backtrace I posted in #hedgewars?
23:39
<nemo2> nooope

@Deadpool antiping causes shaky movement. Generaly everything is shaky, if prediction fails in predict :PP Because it need to correct state
